Why stop at two weeks?

Michigan’s budget has been in crisis for at least the past 7 years so does it really matter if the Legislature takes a couple weeks off? Personally I take comfort from the wisdom of Mark Twain who once said, "No man's life, liberty, or property is safe while the legislature is in session." Perhaps they should call it a year and just stay home.
