Because you've lost the moral high ground

Rochelle Riley’s column asks why Americans aren’t marching in the streets over so-called civil rights infringements. When Riley and others claim voter identification requirements violate black voter rights, the general public recognizes the claim as race-baiting. Contrary to Riley’s twisted logic, requiring all voters to identify themselves is not a racially targeted poll tax.

This same twisted logic leaves Riley trying to convince us that eliminating preferential treatment will deny people equal opportunity. Preferences hinder equality. One denies the other.

Why would you expect people to march when your message no longer holds the moral high ground?
