Matt Millens of Michigan Politics

Background: A Detroit News editorial claims the budget crisis in the Michigan government stems from term limits. I disagree and eliminating term limits would simply reward a bunch of pompous, worthless political hacks.

Term limits have nothing to do with the budget debacle. Consensus building, compromise, and cordial deal-making put Michigan in its current budget woes as politicians refused to implement reforms under the guise of non-partisanship. I prefer a representative who stands firm and isn’t tempted to sell out his core principles for a lifelong job in the legislature.

Rescinding term limits would simply reward the current crop of unworthy politicians. Kind of like when Matt Millen received a contract extension for running the Lions into the turf.
