Young lives rescripted
In “Young lives rescripted”, we learned of the wonderful work being done by Goodwill Industries helping young minority men turn their lives around. The article quoted the program’s manager, Keith Bennett, as saying that students are graduating from Detroit Public Schools with third-grade math skills. If recent history repeats, we can expect to hear from leaders telling Bennett to stop bashing the schools. Maybe they’ll even claim their students are graduating with sixth-grade math skills.
