Here's a fresh idea for the Governor

The Free Press claims fresh thinking is needed to raise state revenues but promotes only stale ideas. Raise taxes. Increase fees. More enforcement. How about revamping the lucrative and costly teacher union benefits program or privatizing portions of Michigan’s growing corrections system? Let’s eliminate the redundancy of intermediate school districts, stop funding corporate welfare, and rescind the prevailing wage law.

The governor can transform our state’s finances by simply standing up to powerful interest groups. That would be a fresh idea.
