Hey Jesse, it's about ability not color

On October 23, the Free Press reported that Jesse Jackson attended a Detroit rally against Proposal 2 and used the Detroit Tigers as an example of how diversity can lead to success. Jackson’s comments expose the fallacy of the opposition’s argument. The Tigers’ strength comes from the diversity of their talents which includes a left fielder who smashes timely homeruns, a third baseman with a rocket arm, and a catcher headed to the Hall of Fame. The fact these athletes are black, white, and Latino is meaningless. Each earned his spot on the team through his ability, not his color. Voters can extend this principle beyond sports by voting yes on Proposal 2.
