Different motives, same goal

Farmington school board president Karen Bolson tries to point at recent KKK literature as justification for maintaining government programs that grant preferential treatment based on race (“Affirmative action: A critical part of solution to discrimination”, 10/26/2006). That’s an interesting spin. I thought the KKK, like Proposal 2 opponents, favored some racial preferences. Obviously these groups have different motives and seek to apply the preferences to different races, but they are linked by their desire to perpetuate racial distinctions.

If you think people should be judged on merit and ability rather than race, vote yes on Proposal 2.
