No bonus points and no quotas

In her column, Cami Zawacki made assumptions based on the scare-mongering tactics of BAMN and other MCRI opponents. Contrary to media reports, Proposal 2 does not eliminate all affirmative action. In fact, the types of outreach programs that Zawacki claims attract better workers are still used in California which passed a similar proposal 10 years ago.

The MCRI will prohibit the bonus points and behind-the-scenes quota systems that get used by government agencies for university admissions, public employment, and public contracting. Public employees should not be picking winners and losers based on skin color or gender and must understand that equal means equal. Vote yes on Proposal 2.
