Stupid political tricks

Governor Granholm’s petition urging a cap on oil profits reveals her ignorance of basic economics. Profits are the result of high prices, not the cause. Supply levels and increased world demand are the cause. In addition, higher gas prices will do more for the development of alternative fuels than corporate welfare paid by Granholm’s 21st Century Jobs Fund.

Rather than a futile attempt to ban the laws of supply and demand, how about a cap on political publicity stunts?
