Stop the scaremongering

Governor Granholm has vowed to veto a bill that eliminates the onerous Single Business Tax that continues to suppress Michigan’s economy. Granholm calls the bill "fiscally irresponsible” and claims “spending on education, health care and other human services could be devastated.” I would suggest Granholm cut spending on “cool cities”, corporate welfare, and other non-essential services. Then she can cut additional costs by injecting free market principles into the state’s education and health care systems. Perhaps this would reverse Michigan’s slide better than scaremongering.
