U.S. Supreme Court trashes people's right to their homes
The liberal contingent of the Supreme Court decided the Fifth Amendment does not protect private property from unjust seizure. Five justices claim that governments may freely confiscate private property and give it to a commercial developer because a shopping center generates more tax revenue than a home. This ruling endangers every home in America because any commercial use of property will potentially generate more tax revenue than a private residence.
While the Court allows the government to tread on our property rights, Congress continues to attend to the “people’s” business. Democrats obstruct every judicial candidate that believes the Constitution means exactly what it says and Republicans seek an amendment to infringe on free speech by prohibiting flag burning. If both parties succeed, perhaps we could paint flags on our homes preventing the government from tearing them down to make way for the next strip mall.
